1. Teach Well Resources

2. Resource for hinge-point questions
For more information about hinge-point questions, you can review the material from Practical Session 1 or follow the link below to diagnosticquestions.com. It contains examples of hinge-point questions across different learning areas that can support teachers to:
- Check for understanding using evidence from every student in the class
- Diagnose and probe any potential misconceptions.
Please note, the terminology used in the UK is ‘Diagnostic Questioning’. Please do not be confused by this. What they are referring to are questions or tasks that ‘diagnose’ students’ understanding or misconceptions during the learning. This is different from the Australian use of the term ‘diagnostic’ which refers to tasks you give to students before teaching begins. This page is definitely talking about tasks you give to students to do while you are teaching to check for understanding; hinge-point questions.
