Teach Well was established to provide support for teachers and school leaders to improve outcomes for the students in their classrooms and schools. We believe in an Australia where every child reaches their full potential through excellent teaching in every classroom, every year of their schooling.
Teach Well is committed to building a sustainable organisation, from the impact our programs deliver to our carbon footprint. Since the start of Teach Well in 2019, we have annually offset our emissions by supporting sustainable development projects with Gold Standard.
Ingrid is the Founder and CEO of Teach Well. In recognition of Teach Well’s impact in improving outcomes for students across Australia, Ingrid won the 2023 Cartier Women’s Initiative Award for the Oceania region and was also one of 12 winners of the national 2021 Westpac Social Change Fellowship.
Prior to founding Teach Well, Ingrid was recognised as a 40Under40 Winner for her work over 5-years developing and leading Fogarty EDvance as a not-for-profit school improvement program for school leadership teams in disadvantaged communities in Western Australia.
A strong believer in the talent of Australian educators, Ingrid is Deputy Chair of the Board of Ochre Education – a not-for-profit organisation which provides thousands of curriculum-aligned adaptable resources created for teachers, by teachers, for everyday use, completely free. Ingrid is also a Project Advisory Panel member for the Grattan Institute and was Chair of the school board of Balga Primary School from 2019-2023. Ingrid began her career as a strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, also leading operational and strategy projects during her time with Lufthansa German airlines. Ingrid is a semi-professional cellist and has taught music privately for over 20 years.
Katie is General Manager, Operations and comes to the Teach Well team with extensive experience working with school leaders through her work as the Program Director (Strategy) of Fogarty EDvance, a not-for-profit initiative of the Fogarty Foundation.
Prior to her time in education, Katie began her career as a solicitor in a leading global law firm in Perth. Katie specialised in providing advice and representation to a broad range of clients in commercial disputes, including a number of pro bono clients. In 2019, Katie was awarded the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 award for Dispute Resolution.
Katie is passionate about educational equity and has a keen interest in ensuring that educational research informs best practice in schools throughout Western Australia.
Chris is the Principal Program Lead of Teach Well. He brings over 12 years of experience in higher education, having held roles in university teaching, academic program coordination, curriculum governance, and research communication.
Prior to joining Teach Well, Chris was Executive Officer of the UWA Public Policy Institute, leading its projects and operations. He specialised in translating complex research to inform evidence-based public policy in Western Australia. He has worked with senior leaders in government, universities, not-for-profits, and communities to disseminate research on critical policy challenges facing Australia and the Indian Ocean Region, including the issue of fairer education systems.
Hannah is a secondary school educator who has worked in a wide variety of contexts teaching both lower and senior school English. She has been the coordinator for both lower and senior school English teaching and learning programmes, most recently as an English ATAR team leader. Hannah brings a broad range of experience to the team having previously worked in industrial relations and as a workforce planning consultant, both here and in the UK, and has extensive experience in developing and mentoring graduates. She has a strong interest in evidence-based instruction and is driven to see greater educational equity in Australia.
Jess’ career as an educator began at the early learning centre of an independent boys school in Sydney, and she has also held various management positions in long day-care settings in both Sydney and Perth. Relocating to central London in 2016, Jess spent six years teaching across Year 1, 2 and 3, alongside holding year-group and subject-area middle leadership positions. She has a strong interest in evidence-based teaching and has also provided professional development coaching to adults across a spread of industries, having recently graduated with a MSc Positive Psychology & Coaching Psychology.
Meg is a highly experienced secondary Mathematics educator who has worked in a wide variety of contexts in both Australia and the UK. She taught for six years as a foundation staff member at a new outer Perth metropolitan high school. During this time, she was jointly responsible for implementing and coaching teachers in high-impact, evidence-based instructional practices at a whole school level. More recently, Meg established and coordinated teaching and learning programmes for courses in ATAR Mathematics, before joining Teach Well to further her impact on the implementation of best practice in Western Australian schools.
Sasha, a seasoned secondary Mathematics educator, has held pivotal roles in coordinating senior school Mathematics teaching and learning programs. Most recently, she served as an ATAR team leader for both Maths Applications and Maths Methods. In her capacity as a department leader, Sasha coached teachers in best practice, research-based instructional tactics, and actively mentored pre-service teachers and graduates.
Her passion lies in advancing educational equity by working towards providing access for all students to evidence-based, high impact instruction.
Janine is a highly experienced educator and leader in the field of Mathematics education. Her teaching experience spans Year 6 up to Year 12 ATAR, with a particular interest in enhancing learning in lower school mathematics. Over 24 years, Janine has held numerous roles, including Curriculum Innovation Coordinator and Head of Mathematics, where she has supported staff to reflect on and improve curriculum design and best practice in the classroom.
With a passion for evidence-informed teaching practices, Janine aims to bring to life research for teachers so that it is clear and actionable, to ensure equity for all students across all classrooms, as well as to empower all learners on their educational journey.
Fiona has a background in tertiary education, having taught and coordinated programs in literature, communication, academic skills development, and equity and
transition since 2008.
Fiona’s research background is interdisciplinary, and she has a PhD in literature/ neuroscience alongside a BA(Hons) and a CELTA
