5.4 Review your impact tracking measurement and submit

DUE DATE: Thursday 12 October (Term 4, Week 1)

This task asks you to consider how the changes you have implemented into your practice have influenced outcomes for your students, as well as student behaviour, participation, and engagement.

Complete the post-course impact tracking assessment that you determined you would use at the beginning of the course, if you haven’t already. If your plans changed, for any reason at all, you are welcome to change the assessment you are collecting to reflect your new circumstances (e.g. using different assessment tasks, focus classes etc.). In the box below you can review some of the possible comparison options.

Once you have both your baseline data and post-course data you can review the data to assess how students have progressed.

Steps

  1. Collect your post-course data (also for your comparison classes if necessary)
  2. Review your baseline and post-course data, ideally against your comparison
  3. Deidentify your data and collate in a way that could be understood by someone who doesn’t know your class (clearly labelled, heading/subheading used etc.)
  4. Download and complete the Impact Tracking Summary & Reflection template (see the examples and template in the box below)
  5. Submit your Impact Tracking Summary & Reflection, and a copy of your de-identified raw data into the dropbox at the bottom of the page
  6. Come ready to discuss the results at the final practical session

Submit your impact tracking documents below.

Sharing Stories of Success

Meet with each of your teachers and discuss how things have been going. Ask them about the changes they’ve made to their practice and the successes they’ve had to date. With them, reflect on the distance they have come and the early indicators they are seeing that the changes are making a difference for (one or more of) their students. Write their story of success in the template below. With permission from individual teachers, you may like to share these with current and future participants.

Once complete, please submit your reflection notes below.

Now is also the time to support the participants at your school in the process of reviewing the data they collected as a student baseline and comparing that to the post-course assessment they decided upon before commencing the course.

Once completed, they need to prepare and submit a short summary.
